The 1st RCA Chess Championship was held at the Raja’s Chess Academy branch at Kaggadasapura , Bangalore - 93 on Sunday , 31st December 2005 - 15 players were given seedings based on marks scored in exam - 2 held in December 2005 - Purely seedings pairings without colour weightage as initially introduced by FIDE in 1985 was used - Only half point bye was given in all rounds - Ties resolved by using (a) S.B. (b) Result of individual encounter (c) Greater number of wins (d) Greater number of blacks played (e) Alphabetical order instead of toss or play off -  Note that the SB generated by a half point bye is that of  drawing a player with 50% score in the event e.g 01.50 - The seeded players were as follows - 01.
